Wow...
Chelsea & westminster Hospital. London
10th December 2015
We went up to London for our 6 monthly check up, which gave us some amazing news. We where very surprised after his feet and calves where measured, walking examination done, tip toes, hoping and heals walk done to find out Oscar had come to the end of his treatment. We where speechless and so happy for Oscar and a little bit apprehensive of what the future will bring, but so happy for him. We where expecting there to be one more appointment in April which would have been around his 5th Birthday and where hoping this would be the check up that would with any luck be the one where they say he no longer needed his boots. We where so excited to here he could stop wearing his boots at night. Oscar was very over whelmed and even said he would like to keep wearing his boots!! This is all oscar has ever know for his almost five years, wearing his boots, he is definatly very attached to them. Although very happy to be out of them and have the freedom to go to loo at night by himself and for me to not have to carry him to bed this is the best day ever. The strict boot wearing has finally worn off. I never gave in they where always on. To be honest he has been so good at wearing his boots with Black robin grip socks and never really complained and would ask for his boots to be put on.He only wears Clark shoes in the day and we religiously did his feet exercises of tiptoes and heals. So grateful for the ponseti method :) We have a check up in 3 months time to see how his feet are with out boots on.We have been asked to keep an eye on his foot and if we have any concerns to contact the hospital straight away. Although so grateful to have got this far the nervousness has not stopped, we have all toes and fingers crossed that his foot does not start to regress, only time will tell!
