Post op...

Chelsea & Westminster Hospital, London.
13th December 2016

The operation lasted two hours which passed very quickly.

We where escorted to see Oscar and before we got through the door we could hear Oscar shouting and crying in real distress.

After about 30 minutes we managed to calm Oscar down, he kicked and screamed and wanted his cast to be removed. He was totally out of character and very distressed we where told this was due to the wearing off of the drugs. We have no idea at this point weather the kicking has done any damage to his operated foot and will not know for sometime till he has the cast removed and starts walking again. The doctors did not seem worried by this, but i am.

After Oscar calmed down he was given morphine to numb the pain. He was very emotional for the rest of the day with bought's of tears here and there. We comforted him and distracted him with gifts and conversation which did the trick once settled on the ward.

Oscar was closely watched with regular observations of temperature, blood pressure and blood oxygen levels. He was also given regular doses of Morphine and parcetoml.

That night i slept for about an hour and Oscar a couple, he was very up and down once the meds wore off the pain started again and so did the tears.
