Maternity Ward, Ealing Hospital, London
6th April 2011

After our bonding session the midwife took Oscar and gave him a check up, a little clean down and dressed him in his new attire, although it did swamp him, definatly note to self for next time buy tiny baby clothes just incase. It was at this moment we were given the news that Oscar had been born with his right foot facing inwards and that we would probably need to have some sort of physiotherapy to straighten his foot out. I think it kind of flow over my head as I was still exhausted from the birth and the whole experience of becoming a mum and was relieved that he was ok. We were then dismissed to the Post natal ward to wait until morning for the doctor to see us before being dismissed. My husband was sent home as it was a women's only ward which I found pretty distressing as we were doing this together, I think next time I will spend the £100 to have our own room so my husband can stay with us.
