Its been a very long time since i added to this blog, apologies. Oscar is now 1 month away from turning 3 and to this day (touch some wood!!) we have been incredibly lucky. Oscar has been for numerous check up appointments every 4 months at Chelsea and westminster hospital, london. His appointments have gone smoothly with no concerns which is such amazing news and we are so happy we know only need to go every 6 months for check ups. I hope the next few years continue in the same way. Oscar continues to wear his boots and bar at night for 12 hours and we have been told throughout his ponseti treatment 12 hours will be the minimum he will need his boots on. Oscar has never been the best sleeper and usually sleeps for 11 hours a night so we end up putting his boots on half and hour or so before he goes to bed where he gets to play on his daddys iPad!!and then in the morning when he wakes up he sits on the sofa watching his favourite cartoons whilst eating toast. This allows him to get the 12 hours he needs to be in his boots this routine works for us and Oscar never complains, which is great! Oscars feet are looking great his loose skin on the side of his right foot has really started to not be so flappy, just a bit wrinkly now thanks to the black robin ponseti socks, totally recommend them. We have been given exercies for oscars feet to help keep them flexible which are daily tip toeing and walking on his heals which he finds very entertaining and now whizzes around on his heals. Oscars feet have been quite slow growing, but so is his height so i can't put his slow foot growth down to his treatment. Oscars effected foot is half a shoe size smaller than his other foot but luckily this size difference does not need him to get different sized shoes! I have been really strict with his shoes and only have allowed him to wear clarks fitted shoes. We have since had a baby girl back in February of this year and as you might imagine we where very on edge to see if she was to be born with Talipes too! With Oscar his foot was not picked up during my routine scans so we imaged that with our second baby this too would be the case. Sure enough our scans did not pick up any abornamities, Coco was born without Talipes in February of this year to our delight, even though we would have been more than ready and of course happy if she had indeed been also born with Talipes. We have oscars next appointment in May so I shall come back again soon and update my bog, promise!!
