Appointment news...

Chelsea & Westminster Hospital, London.
13th October 2016

Today we got the news we where hoping we wouldn't get.... Oscar needs an operation. We meet with Oscars Paediatric Orthopaedic Physiotherapist & Consultant Orthopaedic surgeon, who after getting Oscar to do the usual checks of heals, toes, jumping and foot flexing they gave a very straight, 'Oscar has a muscle imbalance' and is in need of an operation.

We haven't notice any difference from the last time we had a check and reported that his foot had defiantly changed and found it hard to walk on his heals. This is the first time in 6 months that we have seen the consultant.

Oscars foot does seem stiff and he does find it very hard to clear the floor of the outer side of his foot whilst heal walking.

We where given lots of facts and risks of the operation, but they where very clear that he needed the operation and that best to happen sooner rather than later.

I don't think we really took in all the information that day, defiantly brought tears to my eyes, but if its to help him be a normal, happy boy then we think its the right thing to do.

Oscar has been booked in for tibias anterior tendon transfer operation on his right foot / leg for December the 13th 2016.

Whilst we where up in London we popped into Westfield shopping centre to buy a few treats and have some lunch, much needed.
