A week post op...

Home, Winchester.
21st December 2016

I'm not going to say its been a breeze because it defiantly has not, but so glad to be 1 week post op. There have been a lot of downs but we are defo on the up at the moment. Luckily I have been able to work from home since op to assist Oscar.

We have the routine down now, going to the loo, eating and entertaining. We have brought a small table that Oscar can use in bed, at the sofa or even from his wheel chair. Its great and a bargain of £23 from Argos.

After two days at home we managed to wean Oscar off the Morphine, but he still needed constant doses of Calpol.

My parents brought Oscar a fantastic present, an OSMO kit for the iPad and interactive learning kit which has with no doubt been a great way to pass the time.

Night times are still a struggle and for almost a week Oscar still complained of pain and has not gone back into his usual sleeping pattern. It is a bit like insomnia he is finding it really hard to get to sleep and usually falls a sleep by 12pm.

The last two days we have really turned a corner and Oscar has been a sleep by 9-10pm, but we still have a bit of a way to go before he gets back to his 8pm bed time routine. Lets hope that comes in the next few days. I am not really worried as long as he his getting enough sleep which he is, he just sleeps longer in the morning.
