Back to School...

Today was a big day for Oscar he went back to School. He couldn't wait to show every one his cast and of course his super cool wheel chair.

Prior to Oscars op we had a quick meeting with the School to discuss the support Oscar might need on his return to School, so they where prepared.

He had a great day and was totally exhausted on his return.

My work place have been super supportive of Oscars op and have allowed me to change my working hours until Oscar is independent again.

I now take Oscar to School every morning and between my husband and my parents we collect Oscar from school. The school have allowed us to park in the teachers car park which is right by Oscars class room to help us get him into school easily.

Next to Oscars class room is the library which has a ramp up into, which we have been using to access Oscars class room. Luckily the school is on one level and has great disabled access.

Since Oscars op he has mastered (Still in his full leg cast) how to go to the loo with our help rather than using the wee pot. This has really helped with going back to School and being as independent as possible and only needs help getting out of the wheel chair and sitting on the loo, the rest it can do himself.
