Check up time...

Chelsea & Westminster Hospital, London.
15th May 2017

Today we visited Chelsea and Westminster Hospital to have Denise check our concerns with Oscars feet. They did the usual heels, toes, balancing and flexibility tests, all of which they where happy with, which is great. They where concerned with the pain he is having and the lump on his foot and feel that Oscar could do with some extra support on his foot.
Oscar was cast for an AFO, which is a foot brace that will support his foot and leg which is strapped to his leg and is worn inside your shoe. They applied plaster of paris to his leg to take a mould of his foot which they will use to build his AFO brace.
In the mean time they have given him a supportive boot to wear during the day until the AFO is ready. He is also allowed to wear his normal shoes when needed. They would like to see us again in 3 weeks time when the AFO is ready and if the lump is still swollen and troubling then they will ultra sound the lump to make sure the tendon is still securely attached!!
Oscar is an active boy but he has not been going crazy, he is still not allowed to jump, go on a bouncy castle and has been told to pause PE at school again until we get to the bottom of the issue.
